YWAM KYIV
HISTORY
YWAM Kyiv was founded in 1993 by a DTS team from New York. Over the years many different ministries have been launched and many people have found the love of God. Much of YWAM Kyiv’s initial ministry was done on the island of Rusanivka located in the city on the left bank.
Due to a generous donation, a restaurant/hotel boat was purchased in 2004 and then became the main ministry location for many years. At the same time, a 10 acre property on the banks of the Dnieper river was also purchased and construction began on ‘The Loft’ and on ‘The Table’.
In 2011 the government required the boat to be moved, and it was floated down the river to the current YWAM missions center where it has been transformed into one of our buildings. Though it doesn’t float in the water anymore, we still lovingly call it ‘The Boat.’ The first training program at the Missions Center was in 2011 and it has kept growing every year.
The 'The Loft' and The Table' were completed in 2021 and have housed many students, staff, teams, volunteers and guests. God has been faithful through it all and we look forward to continued growth despite the war.
